A Wizarding Wedding: Where “Always” Became Forever
Some weddings follow the rules. Chiara and Alessandro rewrote the entire spellbook.
From the very first detail to the very last cupcake, their celebration was a fully immersive journey into the wizarding world — rich in burgundy tones, handcrafted magic, and the kind of love that, just like a certain wizard once said, lasts always.
The Invitation: A Marauder’s Map… with a Twist
Every great story begins with an extraordinary invitation. Chiara and Alessandro’s save-the-date was no exception: a hand-crafted wedding invitation featuring an original illustration hand-engraved on an etching plate by the incredibly talented Elisa Tamburrini aka Pelle d’Oca. The design? A custom Marauder’s Map — not of Hogwarts, but of their own love story: the church and the reception venue, Cascina Caremma, a historic farmhouse nestled in the Parco del Ticino, just 30 km from Milan, where centuries of rural heritage meet organic farming and an almost magical natural atmosphere.
Each invitation was sealed with burgundy wax stamped with the couple’s personal logo — every single detail handmade by me, a wedding planner with a serious passion for DIY.
The Bouquet: Dark Magic in Full Bloom
Chiara carried a stunning bouquet of deep red peonies, crafted by Infiori — lush, romantic, and perfectly in keeping with the wedding’s signature burgundy palette. Rich, dramatic, and unforgettable.
The Tableau de Mariage: Winged Keys & Wizarding Wonders
Guests didn’t just find their tables — they discovered them. The tableau de mariage was built around a vintage wooden table, above which winged keys (straight out of the first Harry Potter film) hung suspended in the air, each one carrying a guest’s name and table number. The table itself was dressed with spell books, magic potions, and wizarding wands, creating a scene that felt like stepping directly onto a Hogwarts set.
The Centrepieces: A Different Story at Every Table
No two tables were alike. Each centrepiece featured a wooden Alice displaying the table number, surrounded by flowers and decorations unique to that table — from mini white pumpkins evoking Hagrid’s pumpkin patch in The Prisoner of Azkaban, to Hermione’s Time-Turner, wizarding wands from across the saga, Professor Trelawney’s teacup, mini cauldrons, and mysterious potion bottles. A different chapter of the wizarding world at every seat.
The Couple’s Table: Pure Hogwarts
The sweetheart table was in a league of its own. A spell book transformed into a flower vase held a lush floral arrangement, surrounded by a Chocolate Frog, a Hogwarts acceptance letter, a Dumbledore figurine, and — of course — the Golden Snitch. A love letter to J.K. Rowling’s universe, reimagined as a wedding centrepiece.
The Cake: “Always”
Beneath a canopy of candles hanging from a tree, the dessert display was pure theatre: a naked mini cake crowned a cupcake tower, the whole thing wrapped in the magic of the wizarding world’s newspaper. Atop the tower, a cake topper bearing a single word: “Always”. The cupcakes? Velvety, indulgent, and wrapped in pages of The Daily Prophet.
The Favors: Owlery & Herbology
Guests took home a little piece of the magic. The wedding favors came in two forms: gilded birdcages — a nod to Hedwig’s iconic cage — filled with sugared almonds, and glass containers filled with moss and a bulb, inspired by Professor Sprout’s Herbology lessons at Hogwarts. Delicate, thoughtful, and entirely on-theme.
